1930s HOUSE EXTENSION AND ALTERATIONS, EAST SUFFOLK

This project comprises a two-storey rear extension to a dwelling located within the centre of an East Suffolk market town. The design responds sensitively to the architectural language and proportions of the existing 1930s house, reflecting the client’s aspiration to extend the home in a manner consistent with its original character whilst also embracing a contemporary aesthetic and open-plan living arrangement.

The ground floor reconfigures the plan to create a sequence of interconnected living spaces, including a larger entrance hall, kitchen and dining area that flows into an adjoining living space with direct access and visual connection to the private rear garden. At first floor level, the extension accommodates a new principal bedroom overlooking the garden, together with a dedicated en-suite, enhancing the overall functionality and redressing the balance between living spaces and bedrooms accommodation.
